Dandie Dinmont Terriers in the UK

 
Earlier this year, heavy snow and driving winds in Manhattan did not deter dog art lovers from bidding at the annual Bonham's Dogs in Art sale held on St Valentine's Day in New York City on February 14th 2006.

The painting by John Emms (1843-1912) showing a group of eight Dandies reputed to be from the kennels of Archie Steel, carried a pre-sale estimate of $40,000 - $60,000, but eventually the hammer dropped at $150,250 making this the most expensive Dandie Dinmont painting ever sold at public auction.
