The first of the two Scottish Kennel Club Championship Shows took place at the Royal National Showground, Ingliston, Scotland, 20th May 2007. John Roslyn of Kennel Renald was our Judge and he awarded Best of Breed and Dog CC to Pat Bannister's Banburg Alfresco with the Bitch CC going to Jean Motler's Wazzly Aphrodite. Keith and Margaret Derry's Saredon Rainstorm was given the Reserve Bitch CC and the Reserve Dog CC went to Maureen Morrice's Shonillian Dandilly Digby. Best Puppy was Mishahda Marchesa Casati owned by Gill Denham and bred by Lynda Bromley. Congratulations to everyone.
Kennel Renald owned by Janet and John Roslyn has been one of our very influential breeding kennels with their dogs appearing in many old pedigrees. Reappearing from retirement to judge SKC 1 this might be one of the last times he will have been seen as a Judge.
This picture was taken at Crufts 1979 by Bienvenu, a Grand Metropolitan Magazine. Imagine John's suprise when he was featured, unasked, on the front page with the title 'Surely there's a little bit for me'. Toby was John's favourite Dandie Dinmont Terrier. Formally called Ch Renald Glassford Crusader, he was a present from Dr John Wilson of Kennel Glassford. Dr Wilson was known for keeping his stock and not letting other Breeders have them. In fact he only ever parted with three of his dogs to other Breeders - one to Christine Dandison, one to Peggy Hulme and Toby, after being 'badgered' for many years by John, was given to the Roslyns. Far from keeping all his stock, Dr Wilson actually used to 'give them away to ladies' which shows he cared deeply about his Dandies' welfare.
