Two years ago, a wonderful Sky Terrier lady in Cumbria, Hazel Proud, galvanised the Vulnerable Native Breeds to meet up at Lowther Horse Trials near Penrith to show our Breeds, including Dandie Dinmont Terriers, to an audience that might not be familiar with our rare breeds. Not only did Hazel work tirelessly to make sure the dogs all turned up but she also made sure that we had our own marquee in a prominent position to showcase these British Breeds. It was an incredible success with thousands passing through and enjoying our dogs over the days of the show. But this year they don't want us. They are having some TV Celebrity Chefs instead. Well I suppose they will take up less room but they might be a fire hazard!
Hopefully they will miss us this year and invite us back to our rightful place at this prestigeous event next year so that Hazel can be proud again! [sorry - ed] |
