Dandie Dinmont Terriers in Italy have just been featured on Alice TV and a very kind person called "vuvuvufio" has posted the programme on YouTube. All in Ialian but there are some lovely clips of Anna's Dandies. One of the clips is here:
In all there are thirteen short clips to view accessed from Vuvuvufio's page. Thank you Vuvuvufio and congratulations to Anna and Sunjoy's Kennel.
Using Google Translation, this is the translation of Alice TV's introduction, from Italian to English, for the programme and Dandie Dinmont Terriers: "In origin dog from hunting, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier is one of the
most simpati and giocherelloni friends to us of the man. Scott must to
its name to the protagonist of a story of Walter, novel that has
contributed to render it popular. He is born from the crossing between
Scottish, Skye and Bedilngton and although its past, adapted much good
to domestic atmospheres. Fiorenza Tessari and George Porcino reveal us
character and characteristics of this splendid friend from the mild
temperament. It has a variable height while its hair catches up one
length of five centimeters. It is a healthy and sturdy dog and receives
favorably, like all the animals, the long walks to the open air. Its
diet would have to preview a rich variety of nourishing substances,
while for that it regards the aesthetic one is a dog that does not have
need of particular cures. Enough to brush it periodically and to try
always to hold clean its eyes. It is rather independent, dared,
determined, obstinate, like also sensitive and dignitoso. Since from the
first years of XVII the century, these terrier took the name from the
small farms near which they lived. The experts are not sure of the
evolutionary distance who have followed, still these dogs are excellent
hunters of rats, make some, donnole and skunks, beyond that one
irreplaceable company."
That's nice - irreplaceable company - and so true but I do wonder what donnoles are! [Ed]
