The first of our three Club Championship Shows took place last weekend and seems to have been enjoyed by all. An excellent turn out of 87 dogs with only 5 absentees. But again the remarkable point is that there were 11 Dandie Dinmont puppies in the ring and 9 of them were puppy bitches. In a chat with Jackie Shore [Kennel Swanwillow], Show Secretary of the DDTC, we worked out that there were even more puppy show bitches that weren't entered so is 2007 the turning point we were looking for in our Breed?
The Judge was Mrs Peggy Hulme [Kennel Hendell] and she awarded The late Mrs Jamieson and Buist's Ch Inzievar Silver Gilt a further CC and Best in Show with Reserve Best in Show, Best Opposite Sex and Bitch CC awarded to Shore's Ch Somercloud Aurora for Swanwillow. Reserve Dog CC went to Pat Bannister's Ch Banburg Alfresco and the Reserve Bitch CC to Gill Mannia's Wazzly Persephone at Kirskill. Best Puppy was Beverly Deacon's Cassencarrie Habit Forming and Best Veteran Ch Vistca Veronya At Cloverwood owned by Meriel France.
