Crufts Twitter and YouTube! Read Bulletins and View Videos

Just one more day to go and it will be 'Dandie Dinmont Day' at Crufts at the National Exhibition Centre in the Midlands.

With Utility, Toys and probably Gundogs judged as we write this, Crufts is bang up to date with technology with two new services - video on YouTube:

Dandie Dinmont Terriers are second in their ring this year so the time of judging is flexible which might make it difficult to go to the Main Arena in time for:

John Charlton 'does' Dandie Dinmont complete with real whiskers!

Did anyone go to Discover Dogs at Earls Court in London last year? Well Paul Keevil had organised a Parade of Vulnerable Native Breeds but with a twist. Each handler was dressed as an historic character in their Breed. Of course, remembering the DDTC event, John Charlton as Dandie Dinmont the Border Farmer was the obvious choice for the Dandie and he made a fine sight with Lynda Bromley's Dandies as the 'mustards and peppers'. This was such a success that the Kennel Club have given the parade a prime slot, 12.25 in the Main Arena, at Crufts itself! Even the Kennel Club Chairman and Dandie owner was seen to be waving a Union Jack and singing along to Land of Hope and Glory at the end of the parade.

John has gone to endless lengths to make his outfit and even grown his own whiskers to look like Dandie Dinmont - thank you John! Paul has written an excellent commentary and chosen some stirring music for this Parade which will last approximately 20 minutes - let's hope that the BBC covers it too!

Dandie Dinmonts at Discover Dogs

A 'must see' at Crufts is the Discover Dogs stand organised brilliantly by Lynda Bromley - Kennel Mishahda - and her team of volunteers and Dandies. Each volunteer takes half a day and to give an example of their dedication, Lynda has planned that her dogs, three of them including her new pepper puppy, are in different coat stages to demonstrate what new companion owners could expect their Dandies to look like - now that is real committment to our breed!
